How do companies determine the weight and height limits for baby toys?
My daughter just got a Bright Starts Tropical fun around we go play center for Christmas and for the seats removed it says for 6 months of age to walk, but the weight limit is 25 lbs. and limit the height is 30 inches. He was 29 inches when he got it. I'm confused. It does not seem like he was too high for it, or too heavy for it. He can not walk alone yet so he could not play with out a chair! I very confused!
My guess is that they use the CDC growth charts. Here are the charts for weight: http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhanes/growthcharts/set1/chart01.pdf I would just use common sense - you know best. Manufacturers make a recommendation, but I'm sure you can decide if it is safe or not safe for your child.
