Why do spare part store ask for registration number?
Whenever I want to buy a spare part from my Volvo dealer (butik) to buy original parts it asks for my registeration number. Why? Do they later use these information for insurance policies?
i wanted to actually change the front bumper cover. I have full insurance but the deductible would be more than the bumper cover, so i was deciding to change it myself. If I go and buy it from the dealer then later the insurance company may say that you have changed this part...
To insure you are getting the right parts. The VIN gives the parts department a great deal of information about your car, which in turn allows them to make sure they are delivering the correct part, making it easier for both of you. What does insurance have to do with anything?
